Housebreaking, theft and damage to property topped the list of crimes, according to EPR West Rand’s latest crime report for the period from Monday, 26 April to Monday, 3 May.
According to Johan Krogh, General Manager at EPR, 23 incidents were reported for their client base, 13 of them at residences.
Housebreakings topped the list with six incidents reported, followed by theft with five incidents, damage to property (four), robbery (two), and trespassing (two), to mention a few.
“The increase in crime can be attributed to the short school holiday during the last week of April, with especially an increase in housebreakings and attempted housebreakings,” Krogh explained.
