Head-on crash leaves four injured, including toddler

Mom and her 2-year-old son among four injured in a head-on crash on the far West Rand over the weekend.

Three adults and a two-year-old were injured in a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles in East Driefontein outside Carletonville on Sunday evening, 2 May.

Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, stated that ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 7.19pm and found another private emergency service already on scene treating some of the injured.

“A two-year-old boy and his mother who is believed to be in her 30s were in one of the vehicles – a white Toyota. We found that they suffered moderate injuries and were treated and transported by ER24 to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care.”

Two adults from the second vehicle are believed to have suffered moderate injuries as well, and were treated and transported to hospital by the other private emergency service.

The police were also on the scene for investigations.
