Number of active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City now at 29
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 155 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 6 917. A total of 6 663 people have recovered so far. There has been 225 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 29.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 12 487 and 4 988 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 12 062 and 4 714 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 24 399 with 803 deaths and 23 441 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 155.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 20 749 and 20 283 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 415 902 with 403 338 recoveries and 10 388 deaths. This translates to 2 176 active cases within the Province.
