According to Constable Portia Mabala, the coordinator of the campaign, sanitary pads were also handed out to the girls.

“The aim of the programme was to uplift young girls’ dignity and impress on them how import education is. We also want to teach them not to bunk school and avoid falling into the trap set by ‘sugar daddies’, infamously known as ‘blessers’. We further urged them to break the silence on any domestic-abuse and gender-based violence incident,” Mabala said.
