Four serious incidents this past week – Mapogo crime report

Mapogo reveals two incidents of malicious damage to property in Homelake and Randgate, as well as a break-in on a smallholding in Elandsvlei, and an armed robbery in the CBD

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Randfontein released its latest crime report for the period from Saturday, 27 March to Sunday, 4 April.

According to Herman Coetzee, operations manager at Mapogo, four incidents were reported for their client base.

They were two incidents of malicious damage to property in Homelake and Randgate respectively, as well as a break-in on a smallholding in Elandsvlei, and an armed robbery in the Randfontein CBD.

He warned that criminals continue to target gate motors, even alarm protection outside.

“The attempted theft of gate motors became malicious damage to property because the thieves didn’t manage to get away with the items they had targeted thanks to vigilant neighbours and quick responses,” he said.
