Covid-19 cases in Rand West City showing a downward trend

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 141 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 6 823. A total of 6 576 people have recovered so far. There has been 220 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 27.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 12 337 and 4 746 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 11 909 and 4 511 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 23 913 with 774 deaths and 22 998 recoveries.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 20 473 and 20 000 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 409 173 with 396 416 recoveries and 10 011 deaths.
