Police seize shotgun, ammo and more during operation

Firearms, one of them a shotgun, seized in an interacted crime-prevention operation on the far West Rand.

Two men were arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearms, one being a shotgun, during an interacted crime-prevention operation in Wedela and Carletonville on the far West Rand on Wednesday, 10 March.

Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere, spokesperson for the West Rand District Police said the suspects are aged 25 and 43. They were also found in possession of several rounds of ammunition.

“The suspects are expected to appear in their respective magistrates’ court’s soon to face their charges,” Mogwere said.
