More than 5 000 sanitary pads will be donated to young girls in Randfontein schools through a charity project called Pad A Girl.
The campaign is aimed at restoring dignity and help those teen girls who are in compromised positions, leaving them vulnerable. This was made possible by Refilwe Mangope, 25, and her younger sister, Reamogetse, 18, who hosted a charity beauty pageant at Cottage Lodge in Greenhills on Saturday, 6 March, where participants donated sanitary pads for the campaign.
The sisters, who are a Miss Randfontein 2020 and Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2021 finalist respectively, said they were happy to receive such overwhelming support from the public.

Refilwe and Reamogetse hope that the project will help those who are in desperate need of pads to be able to go to school without stressing.
“We also like to help people who are poor, children who have been neglected, and elderly citizens who simply need love and support. We believe that no one in this world is ever rewarded for what they receive, but one is always rewarded for what one gives,” Refilwe said.
