Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 50 – no new deaths reported
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 187 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 6 776. A total of 6 510 people have recovered so far. There has been 216 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 50.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 12 210 and 4 652 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 11 768 and 4 422 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 23 645 with 756 deaths and 22 702 recoveries.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 20 292 and 19 820 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 404 785 with 391 944 recoveries and 9 697 deaths.
