Five crime incidents in Rand West City – three in Homelake – Mapogo crime report

According to Herman Coetzee, operations manager at Mapogo, the crime rate again was high that week.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Randfontein released its latest crime report for the period from Tuesday, 16 February to Saturday, 20 February.

According to Herman Coetzee, operations manager at Mapogo, the crime rate again was high that week, with a total of five serious crimes reported to them – three of which occurred in Homelake.

“The incidents were all housebreaking and theft related, while there was one common theft incident in the Randfontein CBD and one of robbery in Wheatlands,” Coetzee said.

In two of the housebreaking and theft incidents, alarm systems were not armed.

Clients need to ensure that their alarm systems are fully functional and working at all times, and to make sure that the alarm is armed at all times when not home, as failing to do so causes a big concern with the insurance claim.”
