How to prepare Melandia's glorious glazed gammon

Owner of Proudly Baked in Homelake, Melandia Teid said there is a simple way to prepare a delectable glazed gammon, to be enjoyed this Christmas.

Melandia said by using the following recipe, anyone can get it right.

 

What you need:

1 x smoked gammon
1 large sliced onion

200g fresh carrots, cut into pieces
200g fresh beans, cut into pieces
100g fresh garlic, cut into pieces OR 50g crushed garlic 
1 x sachet Knorr Cup a Soup – Country Veg flavour
330ml water
30g Six Gun spice

For the glaze:
1 x 80g pineapple jelly
200ml apricot jam
One cup of water
Bring jelly, jam and water to a boil on stove or in microwave oven. Set aside.

Method:
Place the gammon in a roasting dish or frying pan.
Arrange carrots, beans, garlic and onion around the gammon.
Mix the Cup a Soup with some water and then pour it over the gammon.
Sprinkle the gammon and veggies with the Six Gun spice.
Cover and cook at 160°C (Cooking time: one hour per one kg meat.)
Remove from oven.
Decorate it with cherries and pineapple rings (optional).
Pour the glaze over the (decorated) gammon. Allow to cool and repeat until it is perfectly glazed.
