Creating awareness about Move One Million

Lizl Pistorius wants to create awareness about the organisation with its founder, Jarette Petzer.

Lizl Pistorius, a field representative for Move One Million Gauteng wants to spread the word that ‘we stand together united as one, or we fall divided as individuals’.

Move One Million was launched in July 2020 by Jarette Petzer and is a registered non-profit company (NPC).

“I joined because I want to help make the country better as well as to get rid of racism and corruption,” she said.

She said her job is to organise events for the community to do every Saturday, manage Facebook and make sure that wherever she goes, people know about Move One Million.

On the official Move One Million Facebook page, their message is clear: The time is now for us to unite from all corners of the globe and show solidarity against a bent and corrupt system that can no longer be allowed to have its way with the future of our people and the future leaders that follow. We are now left with only two options – Either we run and cower, or make a stand, together, as sons and daughters of South Africa!

Jarette, who founded Move One Million, said while campaigns do make up a portion of what they do, the organisation is focused on public services to communities in need, and the new Direct Election Bill that had been passed.

“All campaigns are to create awareness for Move One Million and we encourage the public to stand up and be accountable. We wish to draw the public’s attention to the new bill and what this means for the future of politics, but more importantly for the future of South Africa,” Jarette said.

He said anyone who is like-minded and willing to be an active citizen is encouraged to join no matter their orientation, spiritual beliefs or race.

He added that there are many different ways to get involved and support the movement.

“We have national events like the one coming up on 30 January 2021 in conjunction with Ride to Freedom and SA Bikers Unite, and we have a number of feeding programmes across many of our poorer communities where members get actively involved in these communities to bring relief and awareness where possible. Then there are a number of social events which happen weekly across the nine provinces,” he concluded.
