A vehicle and a truck were involved in a collision on the N14 between Carletonville and Randfontein on Thursday afternoon, 5 November.
One person, the driver of the motor vehicle, was critically injured in the collision.
Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 spokesperson said medics arrived on scene to find the patient, an adult male, entrapped in the vehicle.
“The driver, who was the only occupant, had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene while a Netcare 911 Rescue Technician and Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free him from the wreckage.
“Once stabilised the patient was flown to hospital by Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance to hospital for further treatment.”
