Man’s body found floating in Riebeeck Lake

Randfontein Police confirmed the body was that of a man.

Randfontein Police have confirmed that a body of a man was found floating in Riebeeck Lake on Friday morning, 16 October.

Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson said an inquest has since been opened.

Frederick Mckenzie, a Mapogo security manager at Tambotie Mall, said he discovered the body while doing his security patrols.

I saw something that looks like a body floating on the water. When I got closer; I realised that indeed it was a human; it was the body of a man lying face down.

“That’s when I got my security personnel to inform the police to come out,” Mckenzie said.
