Biggest talent exhibition in recent years coming to the West Rand

Come end of October, the talent showcase will be held at Silverstar Casino.

The young and exceptionally gifted few among us are gearing up for one of the biggest talent exhibitions to hit the West Rand in recent years.

The highly acclaimed International Arts Talent Showcase (IATS) will be hosting its 10th annual edition at Silverstar, having invited contestants from all over South Africa to audition online throughout most of October.

Come 29 October, “Local performers will get to audition in front of international talent agents and stand a chance to perform at the IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association) convention in New York City next year.

People like Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria and Ashton Kutcher were all scouted at this convention,” noted ITSA media representative Genevieve Vieira. Though the showcase itself will be an in-person event, international scouts are set to watch the happenings online during a live broadcast.

Genevieve explained that, “Agents are seeking individuals who are passionate about the fashion or performing arts industry in order to connect them with a larger audience and bridge the gap between Africa and the world.

Those selected will have the opportunity to perform and represent Africa at the July 2021 IMTA Convention in New York City,” claiming that contestants from previous conventions went on to walk the runways of New York and Los Angeles Fashion Week, dancers have performed in music videos for Taylor Swift, Bea Miller and Jessie Jay, and participants have “… booked spots for over 1 000 national and international brands such as Louis Vitton, Dolce and Gabbana, Hugo Boss and more”.

Event producer Elsubie Verlinden said that, “We are super excited to have an international virtual live panel of agents join us in the room. We also welcome the new norm and way of normal for now. As a nation we have grown together and we have learned, we embrace making opportunities a reality and won’t allow any situation to redirect our purpose.”
