Stolen vehicle recovered in Carletonville

Brigadier Marinda Theron, the Carletonville Police station commander said the good working relationship with the community is paying off.

Two suspects were arrested by police after a stolen vehicle was recovered in Carletonville on Thursday, 8 October.

According to Warrant Officer Peter Masooa, the West Rand District Police spokesperson, the Carletonville Police received information from a member of the public at approximately 9.07pm who said that he knew where a stolen vehicle was parked. He gave a description and address of where the vehicle could be located and police reacted accordingly.

Masooa said when police arrived at the given address, they found two men in the yard with the vehicle that fit the given description.

“Members of the police screened the engine and registration, which confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen.”

According to Masooa, the two male suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. The vehicle, a VW Golf with the registration number HHB566FS was handed in as an exhibit.
