A well-deserved Wellness Day for Lenmed

Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital held their annual wellness day to spoil their staff members who have been working hard during these tough times.

Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital held their annual Wellness Day on Thursday, 8 October.

Ofentse Pharumele, Lenmed spokesperson said the Wellness Day is an annual event for their staff members.

“Because of the pandemic, we didn’t think we were going to have one but the committee thought that the frontline workers have been through so much that they deserve the treat.”

According to Ofentse, it is a fun event that the staff members always look forward to.

This year’s theme was ‘Tribe’.

She added that they promoted six dimensions of wellness namely emotional, occupational, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual

During the day, the staff members got screened for diabetes and cholesterol, and their blood pressure was checked.

“We also checked on the emotional well-being of front-line workers.”

Ofentse added that during Wellness Day, there are always goodie bags and prizes to be won, and staff members were excited to complete some challenges.

This day is just something that you need to do; it is like when someone checks up on you after a long time, and that is why we have people like Planet Fitness on board to sign up new members to promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle so that they will be able to perform to the best of their abilities.

“The biggest thing about this year is that we didn’t think Wellness Day was going to take place, but when we moved to Level 1 we decided to do something fun for the staff.”
