Local model on the rise

This Grade 11 Hoërskool Jan Viljoen learner is a finalist in the Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2021 competition.

Siphokazi Sithole who is on her way to stardom said she took up modelling for a purpose.

According to the 16-year-old her mission is to be an inspiration to other young women who are abused and oppressed.

The Grade 11 Hoërskool Jan Viljoen learner is a finalist in the Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2021 competition. So far in her young and impressive modelling career, Siphokazi has earned two titles – Best Upcoming Model and Miss Gauteng Charity.

“I only started my modelling career last year September. After I got some training at a training academy I started the process of making a name for myself. Although nothing or no one inspired me I always believed that I was born to bring change,” Siphokazi said.

She added that through modelling, she could be in a position to become a voice for the voiceless, especially young women who are victims. In addition, she wants to be an ambassador against gender-based violence and a human rights activist for children who are abused.

“My motto in life is ‘Be Fearless’ in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. When I grow up I want to obtain a doctorate in Sociology. I have fallen so deeply in love with helping the needy and disadvantaged people.”

She went on to say she believed it was her responsibility to try her best to use this platform that Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2021 provides them fully to change society’s perception has about pageantry.

The finals of Miss Universe South Africa will be held in February next year in Durban.
