Herald newspaper with a touch of Sunlight!

Our readers received a free sample of Sunlight washing powder, which is part of Caxton Local Media's new 'try before you buy' sampling.

On Monday, 21 September the Herald, a Caxton Local Media publication, embarked on a new and exciting adventure.

With this week’s edition of the Herald dated 25 September 2020 our readers received a free sample of Sunlight washing powder, which is a first for Caxton Local Media.

According to Dejané Poil, Head of Retail Marketing & Innovation at Caxton Local Media, the company is offering a new service to brands – ‘try before you buy’ sampling – and is hugely excited about this new service to our clients.

“Delivery is to a selected target market without any wastage, as there are no returns with unsold copies.”

Dejané added that every sample provided by the client is delivered door to door by Caxton’s credible distribution service and trusted local newspaper.

These newspapers were chosen because of the target market they serve. The product is aimed at a certain demographic and 15 089 copies of the Herald are delivered to these economically active households every week.”

Dejanè added that the clients can select any of the Caxton Local Media newspapers for this service. “Wherever we deliver newspapers to households, sampling is possible.”

She said brands have been engaging via sampling in various ways, “… either face to face with a stand in a supermarket, or other promotional space, but this is a high cost for relatively low reach.

With the samples going into homes with our credible and trusted newspapers, it is far more viable and has better reach and relevant costing. Our newspapers are also a source of shopping information, and our readers refer to them for the deals and new products, so it is a highly effective way to reach shoppers with trial and specials.”

She stated that their research team selects newspaper areas according to the target market the brand wants to reach.

“All brands are welcome to use our distribution channels and can contact Caxton Local Media or their local newspaper, and we will happily put together a strategy and costing,” said Dejanè.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
