Covid-19: West Rand sees seven new cases since last report

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 11 197, with 10 258 recoveries.

As at 13 September, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 688, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 3 126 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 7 204 and 2 922 cases respectively. There are 92 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 5 917 and 2 516 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 13 September is 13 906, with 261 deaths and 11 559 recoveries. There are seven new cases.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 215 140 with 190 761 recoveries and 3 918 deaths.

A total number of 1 915 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
