Covid-19: West Rand sees 21 new cases since last report

As at 10 September, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 664, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown.

A total of 3 104 people have recovered so far. Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 7 183 and 2 911 cases respectively. There are 92 unallocated cases in this District as well.

Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 5 865 and 2 508 recoveries respectively. The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 10 September is 13 850, with 261 deaths and 11 477 recoveries. There are 21 new cases.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 11 164, with 10 196 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 214 152 with 189 208 recoveries and 3 881 deaths.

A total number of 2 451 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
