As at 2 September, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 587, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 3 012 people have recovered so far.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 7 053 and 2 876 cases respectively. There are 92 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 5 709 and 2 445 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 2 September is 13 608, with 255 deaths and 11 116 recoveries. There are 68 new cases.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 11 048, with 9 984 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 211 157 with 184 274 recoveries and 3 680 deaths.
A total number of 2 664 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
