As at 10 August, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 232, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 2 706 people have recovered so far.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 6 491 and 2 663 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 5 142 and 2 268 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 10 August is 12 477, with 204 deaths and 10 116 recoveries. There are 41 new cases.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 10 281, with 8 021 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 193 561, with 145 776 recoveries and 2 618 deaths.
A total number of 4 554 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
