At least 12 people were left injured following a collision between a bakkie and a taxi at the intersection of Fedler and 2nd Streets in the Randfontein CBD on Friday afternoon, 31 July.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 3pm to find the taxi lying on its side on the side of the road. The bakkie was found in the middle of the intersection,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.
Meiring added, “Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the male driver of the bakkie sustained severe injuries while 11 people from the taxi had sustained minor injuries.
Medics treated the patients and provided the seriously injured man with pain-relief medication before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.”
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
