EPR’s clients report 12 incidents; and gate motor theft on the rise again

'It is clear that gate motors and gate motor parts are being targeted, especially batteries' – EPR.

EPR West Rand released its crime report for the period from Friday, 17 to Sunday 19 July.

According to Johan Krogh, General Manager at EPR, their client base revealed at least 12 crime incidents were reported that weekend.

It is clear that gate motors and gate motor parts are being targeted. Being winter and the dry season, veld fires are also being reported,” Krogh said.

He explained that five incidents of theft were reported – in Greenhills, Elandsvlei and Mohlakeng, two incidents of fire were reported in Randfontein, and there was one incident of vehicle cloning in Westonaria.

In addition, Krogh said, two incidents of damage to property were reported in Aureus and Randgate respectively, as well as one residential break-in in Wilbotsdal and a business break-in in Homelake.

“We urge clients to be extra vigilant.”
