Covid-19: Rand West City now has 1 068 cases

Currently, 2 692 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.

As at 8 July, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 1 027, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 213 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 2 568 and 1 066 cases respectively. There are 94 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 344 and 414 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 8 July is 4 827, with 46 deaths and 971 recoveries. There are 202 new cases.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 4 398, with 1 596 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 75 015, with 23 804 recoveries and 478 deaths.
