The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as at 24 June is 1 758 with eight deaths and 540 recoveries. There are 117 new cases.
According to the Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases, Rand West City has had a total of 360 Covid-19 cases and 69 recoveries.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 780 and 527 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 147 and 324 recoveries respectively.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 1 544, with 345 recoveries.
As at 24 June, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 26 156, with 6 627 recoveries and 147 deaths. Currently 1 045 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
