Crimes at businesses a concern – EPR crime report

Several crime incidents were revealed over the three days, with crimes especially at businesses being a concern.

EPR West Rand has released its crime report for the period from Friday, 12 June to Sunday, 14 June.

According to Johan Krogh, General Manager at EPR, their client base revealed several crime incidents over the three days, with crimes especially at businesses being a concern.

He said in the most recent incident over the weekend, EPR responded to a panic alarm at a business premises in Aureus whereat least three men travelling in a light duty vehicle robbed a guard of his cellphone and torch.

“We managed to apprehend one of them,” Krogh said.

He added EPR also responded to another incident, that of an attempted business break-in in Homelake where an unknown number of perpetrators pointed a firearm at guards. Fortunately, they managed to press the panic alarm and the suspects fled.

In addition, another two incidents of theft in Randfontein were reported, as well as two incidents of damage to property at a residential premises in Westonaria and Greenhills specifically.

Krogh added further that an incident of assault was reported in Glenharvie and two incidents of break-ins were reported in Westonaria and Bekkersdal respectively.
