Feeding tummies and souls

At least 1 820 families is said to have been fed.

More than 1 800 families is said to have benefited so far through Turn To Eternal Life Bible Ministries’ (TTEL) Helping Hand feeding scheme.

According to Jean-Pierre de Beer of TTEL and the project manager of the feeding scheme, they could not have done it without the help of individuals in the community and businesses.

“To date, we have fed 1 820 families not only from our own budget but thanks to individuals as well as businesses including Mapogo A Mathamaga Security, SPAR, Randfontein Rugby Club, Uncle Harry’s Roadhouse, The Solution and RCL FOODS.”

He explained further that Randfontein, Westonaria, Carletonville, Krugersdorp, Roodepoort, Witpoortjie and Fochville are the areas they service and where they have distributed food parcels.

“We have WhatsApp groups for every town, and people get information on how to register for food parcels through this platform.

De Beer said Mapogo has assisted in delivering the food parcels. Photo submitted.

“Their reasons of reaching out to the needy, De Beer said, is not only to feed people but get them to turn back to God and give them hope.”People have been through a lot during lockdown. We are far from calling it a day. Only now most people are back at work, but there are more out there who are hungry and need to be fed.”?
