Six deaths in West Rand District as cases reach 627

Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases shows 43 new cases in the West Rand District.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is well over the 600 mark.

According to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown per district, the West Rand District at 10 June stands at 627 with six deaths. A total of 240 people have recovered.

As far as Rand West City is concerned, the total number of Covid-19 cases is 79 with 15 recoveries.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 209 and 285 cases respectively. There are still 54 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 47 and 178 recoveries respectively.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 352, with 136 recoveries.

As at 10 June, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 7 195, with 2 890 recoveries and 57 deaths. Currently 474 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
