Westonaria remains a crime hot spot – Herman Coetzee, Operations Manager at Mapogo.

The Mapogo A Mathamaga security company has released its latest crime report for the period from Tuesday, 2 June to Friday, 5 June.

Herman Coetzee, Operations Manager at Mapogo said even though they experienced fewer burglaries during the week after many businesses have started their operations at Level 3 of the lockdown, Westonaria remained a crime hot spot.

Their client base has reported three incidents of business break-ins in Westonaria, and there were two armed robbery incidents – one in Westonaria and another in Randfontein.

“We have also seen an increase in violent contact crime, with two armed robberies during the week.

“Make sure you panic buttons and alarm system are fully functional and up to industry standards,” Coetzee warned.
