Covid-19 in Rand West City, West Rand: This is how many people have recovered

Here are the number of Rand West City and West Rand residents who have recovered from Covid-19.

Almost 70 per cent of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Rand West City have recovered.

This is according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases per district and sub-district. The total number of deaths specifically in each district and/ or sub-district, if any, is either not mentioned or unknown at this stage.

As at 18 May, Rand West City had 15 Covid-19 cases with 10 recoveries – this is a percentage of 67.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, still have 45 and five cases respectively. There are six unallocated cases in this District as well. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the West Rand District to 71, with 43 recoveries – 30 in Mogale City, 10 in Rand West City and three in Merafong City.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases stands at 94, with 72 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stood at 2 343, with 1 671 recoveries and 26 deaths. Currently 61 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
