Government formally acknowledged the efforts and measures put in place by Centre Management to ensure that Village Square operates within the guidelines set out by the President regarding Covid-19, and that they present a clean and safe environment for shoppers, staff and tenants.
Village Square in the Randfontein CBD is one of the shopping centres the MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture and Environment, Morakane Mosupyoe, and Gauteng Finance MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko visited on Wednesday, 13 May where the provincial health department staff conducted free Covid-19 screening. The aim was also to assess compliance with Covid-19 regulations.
According to Vuyo Gcingca, marketing manager of Village Square Shopping Centre, “We take this opportunity to thank our community for their ongoing and valued support, and assure all our shoppers that we are committed to playing our part in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
“All necessary precautions are taken to make Village Square a hygienic and safe space for our tenants, customers and the community we serve. We remind you that wearing masks that cover your nose and your mouth is a requirement for everybody accessing the centre.
“We also encourage customers to wash their hands regularly, keep a safe distance from others, and adhere to coughing and sneezing etiquette.”
