Rand West City’s Covid-19 cases jump to 14
Gauteng Provincial Government gives latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases in all its districts.
On Tuesday, 12 May the total number of Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14, according to the Gauteng Provincial Government.
Late in April this number stood at 10.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have 40 and five cases respectively. There are five unallocated cases in this District as well. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the West Rand District to 64, with 37 recoveries.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases stands at 84.
On 12 May, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stood at 2 014, with 1 428 recoveries and 22 deaths. Currently 47 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
