Sparrow residents warm hearts with lockdown project

Sparrow Village residents are spending their time on positive activities to prepare for the cold days ahead.

As winter is slowly creeping in, we are saying goodbye to the hot summer days.

During the national lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sparrow Village residents are spending their time on positive activities to prepare for the cold days ahead.

“The virus did not catch us by surprise; we have lived through the HIV pandemic when we lost people every week. Now we are saving their lives as adults and children so that they do not suffer the same fate twice,” Reverend Doctor Corine McClintock said.

The Sparrow residents have been staying active by making a warm poncho and a scarf for every resident for winter. “We at Sparrow are staying safe and busy with fun activities, and we had a wonderful Easter as we worshipped our God. Some of our boys worshipped Him by singing Hallelujah on the Sparrow Everest Chapel, while the girls were creating beautiful ponchos for each and every member,” she explained.

She mentioned that due to most of the crafts markets and shops being closed during the lockdown, it is hard to find needles, thread and wool, and that they are running low on stock. Sparrow residents are welcoming any such donation to help them stay busy with their positive project and create their winter ponchos.
