Baby Sanctuary needs food, formula and nappies

'Food, formula and nappies are our biggest needs' – founder of Just In Time Baby Sanctuary, Georgina Caetano.

Although isolated, Just in Time Baby Sanctuary in Greenhills remains dedicated more than ever to caring for the abused and neglected kids – but they need extra help, especially now.

According to Georgina Caetano, founder of the sanctuary, visitors are not allowed during lockdown and only certain volunteers have permission to assist.

“It is impossible to take care of nine children – aged from six months to five years – all by myself. Our caregivers and volunteers are working normal shifts and doing all they can to keep the kids busy. We are, however, grateful to a doctor for having sponsored us a jumping castle for the lockdown period.”

Regarding safety measures to keep Covid-19 at bay, Georgina said, “We all have to practice strong hygiene control. Our staff have masks, gloves and sanitizers. When they come to work, clothing has to be clean and sterile.

“One of our biggest challenges is feeding the kids and the workers. This has put major strain on our budget.”

The sanctuary therefore kindly asks for help in this regard.

“Food, formula and nappies are our biggest needs.”

Anyone willing to make a donation can drop off items outside the premises at the gate. Also contact Georgina on 062 045 8219.
