The Riet Family Guidance Centre will not be operational during the lockdown period, said Vinelle Madi, programme manager at the centre.
She did, however, state that all existing residents remain on the property and that food is a really big concern.
According to Vinelle, her husband along with Ivan Kortje, director of the centre have been trying to buy some necessities for the residents.
“Ivan and I are trying to source food and grocery items to help where we can, due to some of the families only being able to get in money in when they do general work, like cleaning.
“We are unfortunately not accepting any new people for the time being, and our residents are staying inside during this period,” said Vinelle.
