The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has donated clothes to the homeless of Westonaria and Zuurbekom.
This was done when the mayor, Brenda Mahuma, and other RWCLM staff visited the respective shelters on Friday, 3 April.
According to Tshidiso Tlharipe, RWCLM spokesperson, the donation was part of the municipality’s efforts to care for the homeless during the lockdown.
“The mayor further urges local good Samaritans to donate more clothes for our homeless people, and help us in our mission to reach out to those impoverished citizens,” Thlaripe said.
He added that donations can be dropped off at the municipal offices in Randfontein.
“Our security officials will capture all the details of those making the donation,” Tlharipe said.
