Food relief for local informal settlement
Hundreds of food parcels donated to Zenzele informal settlement residents.
A total of 500 food parcels were donated to residents of the Zenzele informal settlement on Friday, 3 April.
It was an initiative by the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM), Community Policing Forum (CPF) and Azaadville Muslim Community.
According to Tshidiso Tlharipe, RWCLM spokesperson, the project aimed at helping residents to remain at their homes during the lockdown rather that going to shops.
“The initiative also sought to assist families that have no food security,” Tlharipe added.
