Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Randfontein released a crime report for the period Monday, 17 February to Monday, 24 February.
According to Herman Coetzee, Operations Manager at Mapogo, crime-related incidents were high.
The crime report for their client base revealed that there were four incidents of housebreaking and theft in the areas of Ten Acres, Randgate, Eike Park and Greenhills; one of common theft in the Randgate area, and two of armed robbery in the CBD and Culemborg Park respectively.
Most of the incidents occurred during daytime.
“Two successful arrests were made, that of a suspect for commercial armed robbery and the other for common theft.”
Coetzee added, “Of grave concern are the two incidents of violent contact crime – one commercial armed robbery and one residential armed robbery.”
