‘No to Comprehensive Sexuality Education’

An organisation called #leaveourkidsalone marched against Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in schools.

Four women took to the streets recently to voice their concerns about Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).

The group, known as #Leaveourkidsalone, went on a march to create awareness about CSE, which they say, “might end up corrupting the youth of South Africa’s minds”.

Natalie van der Westhuizen, #Leaveourkidsalone spokesperson for Randfontein and Westonaria, said the aim of the walk was to make parents realise that if the CSE is implemented, they are going to lose the right to teach their children about private matters that should be shared between a child and a parent, not with a stranger in a classroom full of other children.

Natalie said #Leaveourkidsalone believes parents are losing the right to raise their children according to their religious and cultural beliefs and values.

“Although we expected a much bigger turnout, we are happy for those who did keep their word and joined us.

“This march means that mothers and fathers are rising up to protect their children as well as the future of this country,” she said.
