Man wanted for questioning in murder case

Randfontein Police have asked the public to help find the man in the picture as he is believed to be one of the people who witnessed a stabbing.

Randfontein Police have provided a photo of a man wanted for questioning regarding a murder that was committed on New Year’s Eve.

According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, a man was stabbed and killed in Witstinkhoutboom shortly before midnight on Thursday, 31 December 2019.

A murder and attempted murder case has since been opened.

“The victim was enjoying himself in the company of two other men, said to be friends, when one of them decided to go to the restroom. When he returned he found his friend covered in blood and dying after the other friend had allegedly stabbed him with a knife. The same man also allegedly stabbed him in the arm when he returned.

“The attacker ran away and has not been seen since,” Hendricks said.

Randfontein Police have asked the public to help find the man in the picture as he is believed to be one of the people who witnessed a stabbing.

“We are appealing to the community to assist with information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the murderer and attempted murderer,” Hendricks added.

Detectives are urging the community to come forward with any information that could assist them. They may contact the police on 011 414 4329.
