The 16th birthday of Chinedu Ilonwuba Pule was celebrated at the Randfontein Golf Club during the weekend.
Chinedu, who is wheelchair-bound, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP) in 2004 at the tender age of eight months.
Bukiwe Madikizela, founder of Phakamisa To Women, whose organisation partnered with Golden Gate Renaissance, ran an awareness campaign to coincide with Chinedu’s birthday to highlight the importance of supporting people living with disabilities.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CP is the most common motor disability in childhood, and children with CP and their families need support.
