Randfonteiners flocked to Tambotie Mall this past weekend to donate blood for those who need it most.
According to Lebo Seatlholo, Public Relations Practitioner at the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), 52 units of blood were donated.
“With every unit of blood, three lives can be saved, which means that just for the weekend of the 11th and 12th, the residents of Randfontein already saved 156 lives by making their donation.”
She added that the amount of blood donated helped a lot, since the target for Saturday was 37 units.
“Overall the donors of Randfontein are very supportive and the blood drive was a huge success,” she stated.
