Congratulations to the Class of 2019 – Municipality

'Today you celebrate a great milestone in your life' Caroline Setsiba on behalf of the Rand West City Local Municipality.

Caroline Setsiba of the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM), an education activist and former SGB member has congratulated the class of 2019 matriculants.

“I am thrilled to share this important moment with the Class of 2019. Congratulations on your spectacular achievement.

Excellence is achieved through positive attitude and sacrifice, and you trained yourself to realise this goal. Make it a habit.

“Today you celebrate a great milestone in your life. You have done great for yourself, your families and South Africa as a whole. The nation delights in honouring your achievement and celebrates with pride,” Caroline said.

She proudly went on to say, “We also recognise the hard work and tangible efforts of educators and all those who collectively put hands on deck to make this possible. As an Education activist, academic and a woman leader, I acknowledge the talent displayed by the class of 2019 and I am proud of the giant steps taken by this cohort to increase the pass rate to just above 81 per cent.

I salute you. Just when you were expected to go an extra mile, you chose to go overboard. I wish to inspire in you a love of learning, to encourage you to persevere and sustain the level of discipline you have displayed.

“Be satisfied with nothing but the best. Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go. A wise woman once said it is hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world, but I add that education is not like filling a pail, but lighting a fire.

“Yes, you did it – the future belongs to you. Believe in the beauty of your dreams.

I call upon all sectors and individuals in our community to put hands together to support education.

“Our NPO in partnership with other stakeholders commit support to learners who passed matric and equally to those who did not achieve. For advice and support, we can be reached on 083 766 7763. Best of luck for a wonderful future,” Setsiba said.
