Local foundation in dire need of products

The Indigo Helping Hand Foundation needs all the support they can get.

The Indigo Helping Hand Foundation based in Middelvlei is in dire need of donations.

They are urging the community to please lend a hand as they currently have over 300 underprivileged members who are struggling because of a food shortage.

They are in need of meals in a can, non-fat dry milk, oatmeal, canned meats, evaporated milk, canned tuna, nutritional drinks, dry beans, canned veggies, canned soup, pasta, macaroni, canned fruit, rice, beef and baby food.

Helping Hand Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation that helps the unprivileged with the help of the public.

“We walk the road with unprivileged children as well as the elderly. We need food donations as our goal is to help those in need to put something on their tables this festive season,” said Anne-Marie Brink, from the foundation.

Anne-Marie added that they welcomed any donations. They also need coffee, tea, sugar and non-perishable items.

“We try to help those in need with a food parcel every month, but it isn’t always easy or possible, because it is not always easy to get donations. We can only do so much, but as a community we can do so much more,” explained Anne-Marie.
