A missing person's case has been opened after a 54-year-old Simunye man went missing on Monday, 2 December.

A missing person’s case has been opened after a 54-year-old Simunye man went missing on Monday, 2 December.

According to the police, Alfred Kwekwe Mkhenku who is mentally ill, was last seen by his sister on that morning.

“He left without telling anyone where he was going. He was seen wearing grey denim shorts and a black Orlando Pirates jersey. He is mentally unstable and is said to be aggressive,” Lefakane said.

Colonel Tinus Swart, the outgoing Bekkersdal Police station commander has advised the community to report missing persons immediately and refrain from coming to the police long after they had realised the person was missing.

“There is no waiting period to report a missing person,” Swart added.

Anyone who might have information that could help the police trace Alfred is requested to contact the Bekkersdal Police on 011 755 8040/ 8069; alternatively contact the investigating officer, detective Constable John Maoba on 072 561 9417.
