Twenty-one elderly residents of the Have a Heart Care Centre were treated to an early Christmas at Driftwood in Eland Smallholdings on Sunday, 1 December.
Each of them received two Christmas gifts, and they had a delicious Christmas meal. They also enjoyed performances by the children who danced, sang and acted.

The event was initiated by Anica van der Westhuizen, Miss Randfontein 2019 (14 to 17 years) who partnered with her mother. The mother and daughter said the event was hosted in the spirit of giving back this festive season and making a difference in the lives of elderly citizens in the community.
“Last year, we held something for the kids and this year Anica decided to help the elderly,” Ilze said.

“We would like to thank the public for showing their love by donating the gifts the elderly people received,” Ilze added.
“It was very important for me to make a small difference in their lives for Christmas because some of them will not be spending Christmas with their families. Old people are very special to me and my family. We are happy knowing that we have managed to put a smile on many of their faces,” Anica said.
