The Rand West Municipality Ratepayers Association (RAMRA) that was launched officially on Friday, 29 November has committed itself to holding the municipality to account and making sure that residents get value for their money.
In a media statement issued by the association, it said Eskom threatening to interrupt electricity supply, the declining state of the town and a lack of service delivery are among the issues they aim to resolve.

Johan Booysen, RAMRA chairperson said, “We invite all Randfontein and Westonaria ratepayers to help RAMRA to help us all. Join RAMRA today and make a difference in your own town. Membership fees were also determined at today’s meeting – businesses pay R3 000 per year, residents pay R50 per household per month, and pensioners pay R10 per household per month.”
