Three victims aged between 16 and 22 were raped in one day.

Bekkersdal Police have raised concerns about the number of rape incidents along one of Bekkersdal’s main streets, Panya Pan.

“At least three suspects who covered their faces with balaclavas and armed with firearms prey on unsuspecting victims. They pounce from the dark veld and drag their victims into the veld before taking turns to rape them,” Lefakane said.

The suspects are still large.

“We are appealing to the public not to use the hiking spot to Simunye during the night and avoid walking alone as they are exposing themselves to danger. However, the area is closely monitored by the police,” Lafane said.

Anyone who can assist the police in solving these cases may contact the local police on 011 755 8040/ 8069; alternatively, contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
